One-on-One Support and Care Coordination
  • Individualized Assistance: Healthy Start Care Coordinators work closely with mothers to assess their needs, provide emotional support, and ensure access to necessary resources.
  • Care Coordination: Through our partnership with Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, Inc., our coordinators:
    • Refer mothers to risk-appropriate services.
    • Assist with Medicaid applications.
    • Provide guidance on pregnancy and child care.
    • Offer emotional encouragement and practical solutions.
    • And so much more. 

Pregnancy and Childbirth Education
  • Classes on prenatal care and preparing for labor and delivery.
  • Topics include recognizing signs of labor, understanding pain management, and creating a birth plan.

Newborn Care and Breastfeeding Support
  • Guidance on breastfeeding techniques, benefits, and troubleshooting common challenges.
  • Tips for diapering, soothing, and creating safe sleep environments.

 Mental Health and Emotional Wellness
  • Access to counseling services for managing stress, anxiety, or depression during and after pregnancy.
  • Tools for building a support network and maintaining emotional balance.

Nutrition and Healthy Living
  • Personalized advice for maintaining a balanced diet during pregnancy.
  • Access to resources like food assistance programs and meal planning tools.
